Terms of Use — Claude Watermarker

These terms describe the use of Claude Watermarker, an independent text-editing website. It is not affiliated with Anthropic. Use the service only for text you are entitled to process.

Permitted editing and your responsibilities

You may use the available tools to review your own drafts, inspect selected invisible characters and adjust formatting. You are responsible for reviewing any resulting change before using or sharing the output, including changes to names, numbers, quotations, code and meaning.

Disclosure and local rules

Editing does not change an obligation to disclose AI assistance. Do not present assisted work as independently authored where a course, contract, regulatory filing, employer or publication requires disclosure. Do not use this service to evade an institution's policy.

You must independently check applicable rules in your location, including rules concerning removal of AI markings in mainland China. This service does not decide whether a particular use is lawful, certify compliance or assume your compliance responsibilities.

Evidence and service limitations

The tool provides editing information, not legal advice, proof of human authorship or a promise about a detector's response. A character report identifies character operations only. A controlled own-key experiment does not use Anthropic's key and cannot predict its detector's result. No editing outcome guarantees acceptance by an official detector or receiving institution.

Availability may change. Server modes remain gated until deployment review and cost controls are satisfied. Pricing is a placeholder, and no subscription checkout is available in this release.

Privacy and review

Read the processing-mode privacy notice before using a server feature. Light stays in your browser; a future enabled server mode requires a separate processing notice. Keep an original where your records or another person's review depends on an accurate history.
