How to Remove a Watermark From Claude Text (Manual and Tool)
Start by separating the edit you can verify from the provenance claim you cannot prove here. Manual character cleanup changes specific Unicode characters. Wording revision changes the sequence of selected words. They have different costs and should not be presented as the same result.
The Claude text editing tool can show local character operations and a before-and-after comparison. It does not test your passage with Anthropic's detector.
Route one: inspect and remove selected characters
Keep a copy of your original. In an editor that reveals Unicode code points, locate unwanted characters such as U+200B or U+FEFF. Remove only the characters you understand. Joiners can affect emoji and writing systems; a nonbreaking space can have a deliberate layout purpose.
If you use this site's Light mode, choose the character switches, process the text and inspect the comparison. Light never sends your draft to a server. The report identifies character operations and original positions. Those characters are not the statistical watermark described by Anthropic.
Route two: revise the expression of the ideas
Statistical text marking concerns word choices during generation. Changing wording can affect that pattern, but the amount of editing that would change a particular detector's response is not established by this tool. For a manual revision, work from your own notes, then compare the new draft with your original. Check every number, date, name, link, quotation and qualification. An automatic rewrite also needs that review. Standard and Deep remain disabled on this site until the deployment and cost gates are satisfied; their labels are not a promise of current availability.

Manual revision takes attention and judgment. Server rewriting additionally sends text beyond your device and may use a service paid for by the operator. Neither route produces an official watermark-removal certificate. Do not choose an editing intensity solely because its output looks more different.

Review what can be verified about a Claude watermark before interpreting a character report. Keep the original if another person needs to understand your workflow. Use the result only in ways consistent with your institution's policies and the rules where you live.
